The Beatles Beat Simon and Garfunkel in Fan Album Poll

Original: Our Favourite Album Artists Poll First Semi-Final Results: The Beatles (post Sgt Pepper) v Simon and Garfunkel Sgt. Pepp

A semi-final of a favourite album artists poll has matched The Beatles' post-Sgt Pepper catalogue against Simon and Garfunkel, with The Beatles winning every pairing. Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band beat Bridge over Troubled Water by 59% to 41%, Abbey Road edged Sounds of Silence 54% to 46%, and The White Album took 64% against Bookends' 36%. Fans are debating the close results.

Why now: The Beatles' narrow wins in a head-to-head poll are sparking debate among music fans about which catalogue is stronger.
