Bear spotted on new Northern California wildlife crossing before opening
Original: Weeks before ribbon cutting, NorCal wildlife crossing gets first bear sighting
A bear has been captured using Northern California's newly built wildlife crossing weeks before the structure's official ribbon cutting. The early sighting suggests animals are already taking to the passage, which is designed to safely link habitat across a busy roadway. News outlets in the region are covering the crossing's first large-mammal visitor as an encouraging sign for the project ahead of its opening.
Why now: The bear sighting is a hopeful early validation of the wildlife crossing just before its public opening.
