Lewis Hamilton calls out hypocrisy over Iran as F1 weighs Middle East decision
Original: Lewis Hamilton calls out hypocrisy over Iran as F1 Middle East decision looms
Lewis Hamilton has accused Formula 1 of hypocrisy over its dealings with Iran, speaking as the sport weighs a decision on racing in the Middle East. The seven-time world champion has repeatedly criticised F1's willingness to stage races in countries with poor human rights records, and his latest comments come at a sensitive moment as officials consider the sport's next steps in the region.
Why now: Hamilton's criticism lands just as F1 is preparing a decision on Middle East races, making his remarks timely and contentious.
