United Passengers Stuck Nearly 12 Hours On Rome Flight That Never Took Off
Original: united airlines
Passengers on a United Airlines flight from Rome were stuck on the aircraft for nearly 12 hours without the plane ever departing, according to a report by Simple Flying. Those affected were reportedly offered only $175 in compensation, prompting criticism of the airline's handling of the delay and renewed debate over passenger rights on lengthy tarmac and gate holds.
Why now: The story is spreading because of the extreme length of the delay and the small compensation offered to stranded passengers.
