Educators in Pennsylvania's Bellefonte Area School District say they are prepared to walk off the job for as long as it takes, with contract talks between the teachers' union and the district still at an impasse. Local reports say the two sides remain apart on key issues, raising the prospect of a strike that would disrupt classes for students in the central Pennsylvania district.
Why now: A potential teachers' strike would directly affect students, parents and schools in the community while negotiations remain unresolved.
