Drones hit two cargo ships off Bulgaria's Black Sea coast
Original: болгария
Drone attacks struck two commercial vessels in the Black Sea off the Bulgarian coast, with one of the ships reported to have sunk. The incident raises fresh concerns about the safety of shipping routes in the western Black Sea, a key corridor for grain and cargo traffic, and about the war in Ukraine spreading closer to NATO member Bulgaria's waters.
Why now: An attack on civilian shipping near a NATO member's coast marks a serious escalation in the Black Sea.
