Original: christine kelly

French outlet Marianne reports that Jordan Bardella used a slogan associated with Alain Soral and Dieudonné, 'Merde, quand même !', until as late as 2018. The revelation is drawing attention in France, where Bardella leads the Rassemblement National and critics have long scrutinised ties between the party's figures and the far-right fringe. The claim has been picked up across French political media and social networks.

Why now: New reporting links the National Rally leader to slogans from controversial far-right figures, fuelling political controversy in France.
