Making the Case for Education-Based Athletics to School Boards
Original: Education-Based Athletics: Selling It to Your School Board
The National Federation of State High School Associations is promoting guidance on how school athletics leaders can persuade their school boards to embrace education-based athletics, framing sports as an extension of the classroom rather than a separate program. The material is aimed at athletic directors and coaches seeking board support and funding.
Why now: School boards are weighing budgets and priorities, and advocates want sports defended on educational grounds.
