Rare snake spotted in Kutch after 150 years

Original: साँप

A rare Afro-Asian sand snake has been sighted in the Kutch region of Gujarat, India, reportedly for the first time in about 150 years. The forest department and wildlife experts are said to be surprised by the discovery, and the finding is drawing attention to the region's little-studied reptile population.

Why now: The rediscovery of a snake species not seen for a century and a half is a striking wildlife story.
