Fox News mislabels Ceuta as part of Northern Spain
Original: Fox News calls Ceuta "Northern Spain"
Fox News is being mocked after describing Ceuta, the Spanish autonomous city on the north coast of Africa bordering Morocco, as being in "Northern Spain". The geographic error has drawn criticism and ridicule on social media, with many pointing out that Ceuta sits hundreds of kilometres from mainland Spain on a different continent.
Why now: News outlets' geographic mistakes about politically sensitive territories like Ceuta tend to draw widespread ridicule and discussion online.
