UK protesters stage heaven and hell futures against new oil fields
Original: # UK Protesters depict ‘heaven’ and ‘hell’ futures as they call on PM to reject new oil and gas fields https:// mornings
Protesters in the UK staged demonstrations depicting contrasting 'heaven' and 'hell' versions of the country's future, urging the Prime Minister to reject approval of new oil and gas fields. The action frames the choice over fossil fuel expansion as a decision between a livable, clean-energy future and climate devastation, with campaigners pressing the government to abandon further drilling licences.
Why now: The government's position on new fossil fuel licensing is a live political controversy, and the protest's striking visual framing is drawing attention.
