Westbrook Studios, Will Smith's production company, is developing a series centered on DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, the hip-hop duo that launched Smith's career in the late 1980s. Details on the format, cast, and release plans have not been announced, but the project reunites Smith with his musical roots and longtime collaborator Jeff Townes.
Why now: Fresh Prince of Bel-Air nostalgia and continued fan interest in Will Smith's partnership with DJ Jazzy Jeff make this reunion project notable.
