Trump's New Fuel Standards End Biden's EV Mandate

Original: Trump’s New Fuel Standards Officially End Biden’s EV Mandate

The Trump administration has finalized new fuel economy standards that formally roll back the Biden-era rules widely described as an electric vehicle mandate. The change relaxes requirements that pushed automakers toward rapid electrification, a move praised by groups like the American Energy Alliance and criticized by climate advocates. Automakers now face revised emissions targets, reshaping the US auto market's direction.

Why now: The official rollback of Biden's EV-focused fuel rules is a major policy shift affecting automakers, consumers and climate policy.
