Original: Election deniers stoke Trump-driven ballot security fears before midterms https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/oct/0
Election deniers are amplifying unfounded claims about ballot security ahead of the US midterm elections, with the fears driven largely by Donald Trump's repeated falsehoods about election integrity. Reports warn the rhetoric could undermine confidence in the vote count and fuel mistrust of results, echoing the aftermath of the 2020 election.
Why now: Concern is rising that false election fraud claims could undermine trust in the upcoming midterm elections.
