Amazon has disabled Alexa's ability to switch Echo speakers to their AUX input, according to an Ars Technica report. The change means users can no longer use voice commands to play external audio sources connected to their Echo devices, with Amazon reportedly removing the functionality rather than fixing it. Owners who used the feature to pipe in turntables or other devices are expressing frustration at the loss of a feature they had paid for.
Why now: Owners of Echo devices are upset that Amazon has remotely removed a feature from hardware they purchased.
