Original: Killer mosquitoes, rabid bats and bear attacks — Climate change is making eco-horror feel real
Warming temperatures are being linked to a rise in unsettling wildlife encounters, including aggressive mosquitoes, rabid bats and bear attacks. Commentators say real-world environmental changes are giving the eco-horror genre a new sense of plausibility, as pests and predators expand their ranges and behaviours shift in ways that once seemed like fiction.
Why now: Rising wildlife-related incidents are being tied to climate change, making the eco-horror genre newly relevant.
