Wildlife Safari loses AZA accreditation after 40 years
Original: Wildlife Safari denied prestigious AZA accreditation after 40 years
Wildlife Safari, the Oregon wildlife park, has been denied accreditation from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, ending a 40-year affiliation with the prestigious body. The decision means the park loses the industry's top seal of approval for animal care and standards. Details on the specific reasons for the denial have not been made public, leaving questions about what led to the loss.
Why now: A long-standing park suddenly losing its top industry accreditation is unexpected and raises questions about animal care standards.
