The Onion's DNC midterm autopsy piece resonates with Democrats
Original: Lol. This hurts because it is so within the realm of possibilities. https:// theonion.com/dnc-releases-pree mptive-autop
Satirical outlet The Onion published a piece imagining the Democratic National Committee releasing a preemptive autopsy into why it lost the midterms, before the vote has even taken place. Readers online say the joke stings because such post-defeat soul-searching feels entirely plausible, with many Democrats voicing anxiety about their party's midterm prospects and internal strategy.
Why now: Voter anxiety about the upcoming US midterms is high, and the satire lands as believable commentary on Democratic Party self-criticism.
