Governments Press UN Reform or Risk Losing Global Trust
Original: Reform, or lose trust: Governments press the UN to reflect the world as it is
Governments are pushing the United Nations to reform its structures so the organisation better reflects today's world, warning that failure to change could erode public trust in multilateralism. The message, carried by UN News, frames institutional change as essential to the UN's legitimacy as criticism grows over the Security Council's composition and the body's ability to respond to current crises.
Why now: Ongoing debate over UN Security Council expansion and institutional reform is drawing renewed attention from member states.
