CSU politician Hoffmann under fire over anti-Left comments

Original: Alexander # Hoffmann von der # csU fällt nach dem Beginn der Machtübernahme von gesichert rechtsextremen # NazisRaus in

Alexander Hoffmann, a CSU politician from Bavaria, is being criticised for spreading claims against the Left party in Berlin while holding back from sharply condemning the AfD. The criticism comes amid concern over what commentators describe as the start of a far-right takeover in Saxony-Anhalt. Critics accuse Hoffmann of targeting democratic left parties instead of confronting groups classified as confirmed right-wing extremists.

Why now: His selective criticism is seen as downplaying the far-right threat at a moment of heightened alarm about right-wing extremism in Saxony-Anhalt.
