Trump claims Iran could strike Los Angeles, defying missile range
Original: Trump says Iran could ‘take out’ LA. Its missiles can’t reach that far.
Donald Trump said Iran could 'take out' Los Angeles, a claim contradicted by the fact that Iranian missiles cannot reach the West Coast of the United States. The remark has drawn attention for vastly overstating Iran's strike range, feeding debate about the accuracy of his statements on Iran's military capabilities.
Why now: The exaggeration of Iran's missile range is being fact-checked and mocked amid ongoing tensions over Iran.
