Infleqtion, Honeywell and UCSB Develop Chip-Scale Optical Cavity
Quantum technology firm Infleqtion, Honeywell and the University of California, Santa Barbara have jointly developed a chip-scale optical cavity, a component used to stabilise lasers in quantum and photonic systems. Shrinking such cavities onto a chip could make quantum devices smaller, cheaper and easier to deploy at scale, and the collaboration draws on Infleqtion's quantum expertise, Honeywell's hardware capabilities and UCSB's photonics research.
Why now: Advances in miniaturised quantum hardware are drawing attention as companies race toward practical, scalable quantum technologies.
