Kenya confirms first Ebola case and death after man returns from Congo

Original: Man living in Congo who went back to Kenya is country's 1st confirmed Ebola case and death

Kenya has recorded its first confirmed Ebola case and death: a man who had been living in the Democratic Republic of Congo and travelled back to Kenya died from the virus. The case has raised concern about cross-border transmission in the region, with attention on travel screening and contact tracing as health authorities work to contain any further spread.

Why now: Kenya had previously avoided confirmed Ebola cases, so a first case and death carries significant public health implications for the region.
