Climate finance takes centre stage at COP31 in Türkiye
Original: COP31 CLIMATE FINANCE
Attention is turning to climate finance ahead of and around the COP31 UN climate summit, which Türkiye is hosting. Delegates, campaigners and observers are debating how wealthy countries will fund climate action in developing nations, including pledges, adaptation money and mechanisms agreed after previous summits. The funding question is seen as one of the biggest sticking points for a meaningful outcome.
Why now: COP31 is a major upcoming climate summit and the question of who pays for climate action remains unresolved, drawing wide public and political debate.
