Drone strike sinks ship in NATO waters, Zelenskyy warns of massive strike
Original: Drone strike sinks ship in NATO waters as Zelenskyy warns of looming ‘massive strike’
A Ukrainian sea drone strike has sunk a Russian-linked cargo ship in waters covered by NATO, in what is reported as the first such sinking in the alliance's area. The attack came as President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that Russia is preparing a 'massive strike' against Ukraine, keeping concerns about escalation and the safety of shipping in the Black Sea region at the center of attention.
Why now: A successful drone sinking inside NATO-monitored waters marks a striking escalation, paired with warnings of a large incoming Russian attack.
