EuroLeague teams reject NBA Europe merger offer
Original: Sources - EuroLeague teams reject offer to merge into NBA Europe
EuroLeague teams have turned down an offer to merge into the planned NBA Europe competition, according to sources cited by ESPN. The rejection marks a setback for the NBA's efforts to establish a European league and intensifies the standoff between the two competitions over the future of elite basketball on the continent.
Why now: The NBA's push to launch a European league is a major story, and a rejection by EuroLeague clubs signals a serious obstacle to that plan.
