Secretary of State Marco Rubio faced questions in Iceland about a map associated with Donald Trump that touched off a diplomatic controversy, and he avoided engaging with the issue during his visit. The episode has drawn attention because it puts the US administration's conduct toward a close Arctic ally under scrutiny, and reporters pressed Rubio for answers while he sought to keep the focus on official business.
Why now: A senior US diplomat being confronted over a Trump-related controversy during an official trip to Iceland is unusual and newsworthy.
