Group says India now fighting 'thieves' after British rule
Original: First we fought the British, now we are fighting the thieves.
Campaign group CJP for India has shared a message declaring that after winning independence from British rule, the country's struggle is now against 'thieves' — a phrase widely read as referring to corruption and those accused of looting public resources. The line has drawn engagement from users echoing frustration over graft and misuse of power by those in authority.
Why now: The slogan taps current public anger over corruption and is being amplified by commentators and activists.
