Joke About Handing Maine to Canada Circulates
Original: Joke about giving Maine to Canada
A joke suggesting the United States should give Maine to Canada is making the rounds on social media. The quip plays on the long, mostly peaceful US-Canada border and appears as light political humor rather than a serious proposal. Reactions are mostly amused, with some users riffing on which states they would trade instead and others noting Maine's strong cultural ties to neighboring Canadian provinces.
Why now: People are sharing it as timely political humor, likely amid ongoing US-Canada relations chatter.
