Pornhub has restored access for Australian users after previously blocking the country in response to age verification rules. The site had cut off Australian visitors over requirements to verify users' ages, part of broader child safety measures. The return follows changes affecting Apple devices and the implementation of age verification, and the move is drawing attention to how adult platforms comply with Australia's online safety regulations.
Why now: The reversal of a high-profile access ban tied to Australia's age verification laws is newsworthy for debates over online safety regulation.
