Israeli forces kill volunteer medic in Gaza amid ceasefire violations
Israeli forces have killed a volunteer medic in Gaza, according to Turkey's Anadolu Agency, which reports the death occurred amid continued violations of the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. The killing of medical personnel adds to tensions over whether the truce is holding, and is likely to draw scrutiny from humanitarian organisations monitoring the protection of medics in the enclave.
Why now: Reports of a medic killed during an active ceasefire raise questions about whether the truce is being honoured.
