Publishers Push 'Organic' Certification for Human-Written Books
Original: Your Next Great Read Might Be Certified 'Organic' https://www.wired.com/story/organic-literature-books-by-people-stamp-a
Wired reports on a new 'organic literature' certification intended to certify that books are written by humans rather than AI. As generative AI floods the book market and blurs the line between human and machine writing, writers and small publishers are adopting a label to guarantee human authorship. Supporters compare it to organic food certification; critics question whether it can be reliably enforced or whether it will matter to readers.
Why now: Growing anxiety over AI-generated books has made verifying human authorship a hot topic in publishing.
