Flag football set for Olympic debut at LA 2028
Original: LA28: Why you could represent Great Britain as flag football makes Olympic debut
Flag football will make its Olympic debut at the 2028 Los Angeles Games, and British athletes could have a genuine shot at representing Great Britain in the new event. The sport, a non-contact version of American football, opens a pathway for players from a country with little traditional NFL infrastructure, and attention is turning to how Team GB will select and field its first squads.
Why now: Flag football's inclusion at LA 2028 has prompted interest in how Britain will assemble its first Olympic teams for the unfamiliar sport.
