Wet summer leaves Ottawa pumpkin growers with poor harvest
Original: weather ottawa
Pumpkin growers around Ottawa are reporting a disappointing harvest after a wet summer. Excess rain has left many local pumpkins smaller, less colourful or rotting on the vine, and growers say the season's crop is lacklustre compared with a normal year. The poor conditions are a concern for farms that rely on autumn pick-your-own visitors and Halloween sales.
Why now: People are checking Ottawa weather and finding coverage of how recent rain has damaged the local pumpkin crop.
