Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says a Russian strike on the city of Pryluky has killed five people and wounded 26, including five children. The attack adds to the pattern of Russian strikes hitting Ukrainian cities away from the front lines, drawing renewed attention to the toll on civilians, particularly children, as the war continues.
Why now: The high number of casualties, including children, makes this strike a major new development in the Russia-Ukraine war.
