Original: ‘We’ll borrow a stargazing kit next’: first public nature library in US helps visitors explore great outdoors By Donna F
The first public nature library in the United States has opened, lending far more than books. Alongside its collection, it offers hundreds of kits designed to connect visitors with the natural world, including hammocks and stargazing equipment. Reporter Donna Ferguson profiled the facility, with photographs by Kevin Mohatt, highlighting how it helps people explore the outdoors who might not be able to afford their own gear.
Why now: The novelty of a library lending outdoor and nature equipment rather than just books is drawing interest.
