Iconic '7 Up' documentary series reaches its emotional finale

Original: 7 up documentary

The '7 Up' documentary series, which has followed a group of British children at seven-year intervals since 1964, has concluded, prompting obituary-style tributes from major outlets. The New York Times called it 'the most profound documentary series in the history of cinema', while Australian papers described the final instalment as an emotional gut-punch that ends television's most fascinating experiment.

Why now: The landmark longitudinal documentary series has just aired its final episode, prompting widespread reflection on its decades-long run.
