Mother's discovery leads to arrest of man over junior high student
Original: 小遣い
Police in Japan have arrested a 24-year-old company employee on suspicion of paying a junior high school girl cash in exchange for sex. The case came to light when the girl's mother found receipts showing more money than her allowance and questioned her daughter, who said she had 'earned it by selling her body'. The mother's consultation reportedly led to the investigation and arrest.
Why now: The arrest and the disturbing way it was uncovered through a mother's routine check of her daughter's spending have shocked the public.
