The German satirical news programme Heute Show, ZDF's counterpart to The Daily Show, is being celebrated online for a segment taking aim at Donald Trump. Commenters across European social media are sharing the clip approvingly, tagging EU politicians such as MEP Katarina Barley and describing the satire as having 'destroyed' the US president. The reactions reflect a broader current of European amusement and criticism of Trump's politics.
Why now: A recent Heute Show segment mocking Trump is circulating among pro-EU social media users.
