Silver Pines, the debut game from studio Wych Elm, is attracting attention as a Twin Peaks-inspired neo-noir detective mystery blending horror and Metroidvania elements. Early commentary is divided: players praise its Lynchian atmosphere and horror influences, while finding the Metroidvania-style mechanics middling. Many admit they want to like the game more than they actually do.

Why now: The game's unusual blend of David Lynch-inspired noir storytelling and Metroidvania design is sparking debate among players right now.
