Zinola bridge closure in Savona sparks protests

Original: ivg.it

The Quiliano bridge over the Zinola area on the SS1 Aurelia in Savona closes to traffic from 12 October, with diversions in place until May 2027. Local media report a chorus of protests and a clash between the municipality and Anas, Italy's roads agency, over the closure and who is responsible for managing the disruption.

Why now: The long closure of a major coastal road bridge is disrupting traffic and has triggered a public dispute between local authorities and Anas.
