Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom Of The Opera is to be filmed live at its London home, His Majesty's Theatre, as the West End musical marks its 40th anniversary. The show, which opened in 1986 and made a star of original Phantom Michael Crawford, remains the longest-running musical on the West End. The filming gives fans who cannot reach London a chance to see the current production.
Why now: The production is reaching its 40th anniversary milestone, prompting celebration of one of theatre's longest-running shows.
