BBC leadership, including director general Matt Brittin, is under fire from employees over plans to cut jobs concentrated among junior staff. Staff have voiced sharp criticism of the cuts, arguing the burden falls disproportionately on the lowest-ranked employees while senior roles are spared. The dispute adds to ongoing tensions at the broadcaster over cost-saving measures and restructuring.
Why now: Fresh reporting on BBC leadership being publicly criticised by its own staff over layoffs is drawing attention.
