Jon Rahm quits LIV Golf ahead of series relaunch
Original: Former world No 1 Jon Rahm quits LIV before breakaway golf series relaunches By Press Association Two-time major winner
Two-time major winner and former world No 1 Jon Rahm has left LIV Golf ahead of the breakaway series' relaunch. The Spaniard is reportedly owed more than £100m by the Saudi-backed circuit, which is preparing for a shake-up of its format and schedule. The departure is a significant blow to LIV, which signed Rahm in a reported multi-hundred-million-dollar deal in late 2023 and is now facing questions over player pay and its future direction.
Why now: Rahm's exit from LIV Golf, with a reported £100m owed, lands just as the breakaway series relaunches.
