East Tennessee church opens transitional housing for former foster youth
Original: East Tennessee church provides transitional housing for young adults aging out of foster care
A church in East Tennessee has begun providing transitional housing for young adults who are aging out of the foster care system. The Episcopal initiative offers stable accommodation at a critical juncture, when many former foster youth face homelessness or hardship after losing state support. The programme reflects a growing effort among faith communities to fill gaps in services for vulnerable young people moving into independent adulthood.
Why now: Faith-based responses to gaps in foster care support are drawing attention as young people age out of the system without stable housing.
