James Gallagher launches bid for California's redrawn 1st Congressional District
Original: ‘A representative, not a politician.’ Rep. James Gallagher looks to represent the new Congressional District 1
California State Assemblymember James Gallagher is running for the state's new Congressional District 1, billing himself as "a representative, not a politician." The district lines were reshaped in redistricting, and Gallagher, a Republican from the Chico area, says his focus will be constituent service and local issues such as water, agriculture and wildfire recovery rather than national partisan fights.
Why now: Gallagher is kicking off his congressional campaign in a newly redrawn district, making his platform and positioning newsworthy for local voters.
