Original: What I Built Every outdoor or hiking app has the same fundamental flaw: you have to stare at a screen... # devchallenge
A developer has built PORI (Phone Offline, Roam Instantly), a tool aimed at fixing what they call the core flaw of every outdoor and hiking app: forcing users to stare at a screen while navigating trails. The project is being shared as part of a development challenge and is described as open source, with an emphasis on offline use and inclusive design for the outdoor community.
Why now: It is being showcased in an active open-source development challenge, drawing attention to its screen-free approach to outdoor navigation.
