Explosions plunge part of Cholet city centre into darkness
Original: cholet
Two explosions were heard in the centre of Cholet, in western France, cutting power to around 80 households and leaving part of the city centre in the dark, local media report. Residents described hearing the blasts. Separately, Cholet Basket defeated Rasta Vechta in the Champions League behind its defence and now leads its group.
Why now: An unexplained explosion-related blackout in the city centre has raised local concern, while Cholet Basket's European win also put the town in the news
