Original: Alesis Microverb 1 & 2 MVB - switchable operating system mod https://www.matrixsynth.com/2026/10/alesis-microverb-1-2-mv
A new hardware modification for the classic Alesis MicroVerb 1 and 2 allows users to switch between operating systems on the vintage effects unit. The mod, shared within the synth and DIY music gear community, lets owners expand the capabilities of the affordable 1980s digital reverb without replacing it. Enthusiasts of retro audio gear and circuit bending are taking note of the project.
Why now: Vintage Alesis MicroVerb units remain popular with synth hobbyists, and a mod that adds switchable operating systems is a notable DIY development.
