Naked Trump statue goes on display in Strasbourg
Original: statue
A nude statue of Donald Trump has gone on public display in Strasbourg, France. The installation, reported by Deutsche Welle, draws on a stunt first staged in US cities in 2016, when naked Trump figures appeared in several locations. The display is prompting reactions in the French city, with onlookers debating whether it is satire, protest or simple provocation aimed at the US president.
Why now: A provocative nude statue of a sitting or prominent political figure in a major European city naturally draws attention and debate.
